General Introduction
Trommel screen, also known as a rotary drum screen, is a self-cleaning screening machine that classifies materials by size. Compared with vibrating screens, trommel screens avoid clogging and can achieve high output even when dealing with dusty and sticky materials. It is often used in conjunction with mineral processing equipment such as crushers and ball mills.
It can generally screen materials with a particle size of 50–150 mm. The undersize product will be less than 100 mm, with the finest size will be below 3 mm.
Structure Illustration
Trommel screen is a relatively large cylinder with holes. It is installed on the frame at an angle. The inclination angle ranges from 5 to 30 degrees. For light and fine materials, it is close to 30 degrees; for heavier materials, it is less than 20 degrees; and under special circumstances, it can be reduced to 5 - 10 degrees.
Working Principle
Trommel screen operates by rolling on its own, which enables the material to move from the higher end to the lower end through the screen, thus completing the screening process.
As the drum of the trommel screen rotates, materials are fed into the drum. The qualified materials, also known as undersize products, pass downward through the openings of the screen. On the other hand, the unqualified materials, or oversize products, are discharged at the end of the drum.
Why Choose Our Trommel Screen
- Ideal for screening light, moist, and sticky materials like topsoil, quartz sand, and white ash.
- Larger unit screening capacity compared to other screening equipment of the same size.
- Features sand blasting and cleaning devices that enable efficient material screening and cleaning, effectively preventing screen clogging.
- Flexible design of feeding methods, such as belts and funnels, tailored to the specific site conditions.
- Operated without vibration, and the sealed isolation cover ensures that dust is contained, preventing its escape.
- The motor is characterized by low energy consumption, high processing capacity, and a running time that is only half of that of other screen types.
- Designed with a box-frame structure, it only requires a flat surface, making installation, disassembly, and transportation convenient.
